Assessments

Assistive Control offers AT assessments for clients with a wide range of disabilities.

A full assessment can be offered with the opportunity to trial various AT systems with multiple access methods, including new and innovative switches, eye gaze, gaze switches and head tracking.

We carry out home assessments or can visit clients at school, in hospital or a rehabilitation centre.

We are able to provide assessments for users with various needs, advising on communication issues, typing solutions, access to home and environmental controls and entertainment.

We have experience in assessing and providing AT for users with:

  • Cerebral palsy
  • Motor Neurone Disease
  • Acquired brain injury
  • Stroke

We have particular skills and expertise in providing solutions for those with severe and complex needs, including users with a vision impairment.  These users may often need bespoke and customised AT to ensure their needs are met.  At Assistive Control our in-house engineers are brilliant problem solvers, experienced in developing ‘one-off’ solutions for users whose needs cannot be met by AT that is commercially available.

We can offer:

  • A comprehensive assessment with the opportunity to trial a range of AT systems and access devices
  • Focus on enabling independent access to a range of worthwhile activities
  • Preparation of a report, recommendations and costings
  • Liaison with the therapy team
